Days 2&3

Yesterday on day two we rode to Indio California. I did pretty well. I did get in the SAG wagon for a little bit. But I was able to complete the ride to the hotel. We rode through Palm Springs, which was an interesting place with lots of wealthy places. The town or city itself had a lot of different shops and restaurants. We did not eat there though. Although at the end of Palm Springs, or as I was leaving it, I did stop at a Carl juniors and had a couple of pieces of chicken and was able to fill up my fluids with lots of ice. It was quite warm yesterday. I did not take any pictures and I apologize for that. I was pretty intent on just doing the ride.

Today we rode from Indio to Blithe, we rode along interstate Route 10. Lots and lots and lots of trucks. They did not bother me much. What bothered me more was how warm it was. At the start of the ride I did a 12 to 15 mile climb. I was quite slow, but I did get to the top. On my way up I had some stomach issues which kind of resolved, but at the top of the Klein I decided to get into the sag wagon for a little bit. At the next rest stop I continued to ride. Again we were riding along route or interstate 10. It was hot as heck. I did have to get in the SAG wagon for about for about 4 miles due to being too warm, and couldn’t quite cool down enough to keep going. But at the next stop, I continued on we had to do another 10 miles of interstate 10, which I completed without much problem we then rode into the hotel.

I did something today. I’ve never done before I went to McDonald’s and got a Diet Coke because that’s what I was craving and riding my bike to the hotel with the Diet Coke. I did not drop or spill it. I felt very successful. :-) below is a picture from today. Essentially the whole time we were on interstate 10. This is what we saw. I look forward to updating you all tomorrow.
